Wow! Been a while since the last update!

Derek has been pretty busy writing new material in the studio along with Zakk Wylde, Steve Lukather and Simon Phillips.

Here's a special message that he would like to say to his fans :

Hello Friends,

I am about 90% complete with my new solo CD ( I still have no clue for a title) It has been an especially incredible experience working with Simon Phillips on this project. It will be released on BigMF Records in Japan, and InsideOut for America and Europe.

Kevin Shirley has been kind enough to mix the song "Frankenstein" featuring Zakk Wylde for me. Kevin maybe mixing some more tracks for me next year.

Some of the other song titles are : Inertia, Mata Hari,Goodbye Porkpie Hat, What a Shame, and Oh Effluvius.

It has been a productive year for Planet X. We have toured in Europe, Japan, Canada, and 30 US shows.
We have decided to cancel all of our January/February dates, so we can begin writing our second CD in February 2001 shooting for a fall release.

Also for those of you that are intersted, PLATYPUS has disbanded. Ty Tabor and I have started a fresh project that will most likely feature Gregg and Matt Bissonette. I will keep you posted on this.

Due to a mishap to a member of Stratovarius in a pyro accident, they were forced to cancel the upcoming Mexican dates on Sept 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The tour dates have been updated.

Derek will only have time to teach 10 students during his stay in Japan in October. The first 10 students that e-mail Derek will be able to reserve a 1 hour lesson period. Go ahead and e-mail him right now! You might be JUST in time!
